Lovely Riva San VitaleRiva San Vitale is located in the Tichino canton of Switzerland. It's a small Italian-speaking village that is surrounded by the Alps - many students hike to the top of Monte San Giorgio.
You will travel to Switzerland in groups. You may fly to Zurich, Switzerland or Milan, Italy and take a train to the much smaller Riva San Vitale. The well-developed train system in Switzerland is easy to navigate. Students live in a dormitory or local apartments managed by Virginia Tech. Classes are located in walking distance, or in the same building, as beds. During our two weeks at Riva, students will live together as a family. We will meals prepared by an excellent chef at the Steger Center for International Scholarship. The food is often cited as a student-favorite at the end of the program! While in Riva San Vitale, you can take an easy train ride to the magnificent Lake Lugano. We will take students to Bellinzona - a village that is surrounded by three stone castles. During our one-hour spring semester course, you will have the opportunity to meet other students who are interested in traveling to similar areas or who have similar financial needs. |
