Dr. Buddy Howell
I am excited about leading our group to Riva San Vitale, Switzerland, again in June 2020! I have previously traveled to Mexico, France, Austria, Hungary, and the Czech Republic. This will be my second visit to Switzerland and the third study abroad trip I've planned. We have some exciting adventures planned—visits to the United Nations and a global PR firm in Geneva and a television-radio station in Lugano—so we hope you’ll join us.
I am in my 11th year at Virginia Tech and probably had the privilege of teaching most of you at some point in COMM 1014 Intro to COMM. I also teach COMM 2064 The Rhetorical Tradition and COMM 3064 Persuasion. The study abroad course I’m teaching is intentionally designed to be broad enough that no matter your major—CS, MJ, or PR—you will be able to design a final project that will allow you to focus on your area of interest. If you have any questions or would like more information, please email me (email@example.com), call me (540-231-7163), or stop by my office to chat (141 Shanks Hall).
Dr. Brandi Watkins
Hi everyone! I'm Dr. Watkins and I am excited to be part of this year's trip to Switzerland. I lead the 2016 program to Switzerland when we visited the International Olympic Committee Headquarters and the Olympic Museum in Lausanne, Switzerland. My international travel resume includes Toronto, Milan, Bern and Paris (my picture is my first Paris picture with the Eiffel Tower over my shoulder). I'm excited to add to that list this summer!
This is my my sixth year at Virginia Tech and I teach classes in our Public Relations major. My teaching and research specialty is in social media (which is why I'm teaching Social Media Theory & Practice this summer). Let me know if you have any questions about the course or the program. Email me at firstname.lastname@example.org or stop by Shanks Hall 101.
