JMC 4044: International Communication
Want to see communication theory put to the test while trotting around the globe? In this course, students will learn to apply what they have learned in the classroom and get hands-on minds-on practice in an international, multicultural setting.
JMC 4254: Travel Reporting
Travel Reporting is designed for students to learn to put their hands-on creative communication skills to practice in a fun, interesting way! Travel reporting has a grand tradition in journalism for many generations. Storytellers from Mark Twain to Anthony Bourdain and many in between have used media technology and writing skills to help capture people's imaginations of far away lands. Specifically, we'll be using School of Communication DSLR cameras (or your own if you have one!) and the Adobe Creative Cloud to create photo essays, videos, social media posts, podcasts, and much more. By creating these works during our travels, you'll be forced to immerse yourself into local cultures, meet new people, try new foods, practice a new language, and much more.
